Not in vain...

Today in class, my young ladies learned how to work with matte eye shadow. I preformed the look on one side and two of the students, Asia and Tavana,  accomplished the other side.

What do you guys think to say two 15 yr olds demonstrated what was taught to them in class ? I'm so very proud of them, it lets me know that they are really paying attention and that my teaching isn't going in vain. #sbbsyo

What a weekend, Sunday I had the pleasure to service Emile "Naomi" Ferbos, the gown designer and brains behind Omi Ferbos Couture

OMG I was scared, I really had to step out my boundaries and think out the box. I had blow it out the frame. Man it was a blast doing what I love to do but taking it up a notch. Heavy deep smoke eyes with banana yellow in the crease and bold yellow lips. Check it for your self ~~>

Essence Festival 2013

Oh boy essence weekend gave me life!!!! I saw many things I want to add to my closet. As for me I believe I turned some heads this time around. I was inspired by many; Friday night concept came from Tia Mowry. She had a spread in the Today's

Black Women Style Report April/May 2013 issue, I fell in love with this look. I remember talking to my besties Muff and she stated we should give polish <~~ I totally agreed. When I saw Ms. Tia I was like this is it.

Saturday night concept I wanted to give major body without showing so much. There is a chic I follow on Instagram name Posh and she wore this dress that I could not stop looking at. Man that damn dress was designed nicely and that's when I started searching for me a Seamstress and I found her Miss Zee. She totally brought exactly what I vision to life. That dress fitted like a glove!!!!

Sunday night concept totally came from my girl Khole Kardashian. Her fashion is killing the scene like no other and it totally caught my attention. I was scrolling down IG one night and someone posted Khole pic up and listed what designer made her dress, omg I felt like I struck gold ~~> "Clover Canyon," yep his work is a masterpiece and I had to have in my collection :)

In the midst of it all~ GIVE

This week has all kinds of amazing highs already. Never mind that Essence Festival is here and I'm going to be working my tail off. I LOVE IT! But it's not always about the glitz and glam of mainstream industry life when it comes to beauty and fashion.  Makeup allows me to do more than just enhance faces. It has opened doors for me to give back in ways I never imagined. I'm too excited to tell you about this amazing summer program I'll be working with this year.

Stylebrity Beauty and Beyond Summer Youth Camp offers hair, makeup, and fashion to young teen moms.  Yesterday was my first day to meet my group. I was excited to see them! I learned a lot, these young women inspired me in so many ways. For the next couple of weeks, I am going to enjoy showing the ladies why makeup is my passion. I'm looking forward to learning, viewing new makeup looks, and teaching!!! Buckle up, it's going to a bright and crazy ride lol!

For more information about this amazing program and find out who it is making an impact and employing at risk teenage girls.
